About Us

Puspa Iptek Sundial is a center of exhibits of science and technology. We have more than 150 exhibits, which can be explored by visitors interactively. We are located in Kota Baru Parahyangan area, Padalarang, Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. Besides small to middle size exhibits, we also have a big vertical sundial and a gigantic horizontal sundial. Our horizontal Sundial is the biggest one in Indonesia. Moreover, both of our sundial are integrated and using same gnomon. For those uniqueness, Puspa Iptek Sundial received two awards from Museum Rekor Indonesia (MURI) in 2002. They were The Biggest Sundial In Indonesia and The First Integrated Horizontal And Vertical Sundial In Indonesia.

Our building and Main Gate of Kota Baru Parahyangan are an integrated structure. Both of them are reflecting the configuration of Sun, Earth, and Moon. There is a spherical stone weighs nearly 2 tons in the Main Gate as a symbol of Earth. And there are also 12 high pillars reflecting 12 months in calendar, each of them decorated with carving of traditional calendars from all around Indonesia. While the building of Puspa Iptek Sundial (its area has a circular shape) representing Sun.
